Motoring Matters.

In 1987 I qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor ( A.D.I. ) after taking all the three qualifying examinations, Theory Questions, Hazard Perception, Driving and Teaching Methods.

I worked for B.S.M. for 4 years, and have worked for myself from 1991 as Peter Glenn School of Motoring.

All Approved Driving Instructors are regularly check tested and graded by a Driving Standards Agency (D.V.S.A.) Area Supervising  Examiner for Driving Instructors
( A.S.E.D.I ), and now we have to be cleared by the Criminal Records Bureau
( C.R.B. ) to continue to hold an A.D.I. Licence.

Currently I am a Grade A Instructor, the highest.

The gradings are:-

0-30    Fail         Your performance is unsatisfactory.

31-42  Grade B   You will stay on the Approved Driving Instructors
                        (A.D.I.) Register.

43-51  Grade A   You have shown a high standard of instruction and you
will stay on the A.D.I. Register

I have passed my Institute of Advanced Motoring (I.A.M.) test  Car, and I have also taken The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Car test, obtaining Gold Standard with my 1st examination, this is the highest grade, the lower being Silver, then Bronze.

I am an  Tutor & Advanced Driving Tutor  for RoSPA for Folkestone area.

All these tests are conducted by Police Officers holding a Class 1 Police Driving Certificate.
In the course of a year I would expect 50% to pass 1st time, if they take my advice as to when to take their test, and the remainder to pass on the 2nd attempt; some take a little longer.
